Things you should know about Wall Formworks

On-site concrete buildings are now often constructed using industrialized vertical formwork. In comparison to conventional formwork, they enable quick and well-defined production cycles and offer higher operator safety during assembly, concreting, and stripping. For concrete wall formwork, a faster concrete filling speed generates greater pressure on the formwork. When using more fluid concretes at significant heights, it is essential to maintain a low filling speed, which the formwork supplier must indicate in dedicated tables.

The vibration of the concrete, which makes it fluid, maintains pressures, and delays setting, is another consideration. The concrete wall formwork may be subjected to extremely high loads by deep vibrations. For instance, it is more challenging to shake the concrete with the typical on-site needle vibrator above 6 m in height. Therefore, external wall-mounted vibrators are utilized, whose location needs to be carefully considered.

Wall formwork can be divided into the following types:

  • Traditional- mounted straight on-site using panels and/or wooden strips with steel spacers.
  • Steel and/or aluminium prefabricated- modular elements varying in size, assembled using
  • closing and clamping accessories.
  • Timber prefabricated- used for smooth fair-faced concrete.
  • Plastic prefabricated- suitable for the construction of concrete columns, pillars, walls, and plinths.

Uses for the wall formwork system:

1- Residential and commercial structures

2- Walls that support loads

3- Building of reservoirs

4- Construction of shear walls

5- Construction of corner walls

6- Building of foundation walls

7- Buildings that already have walls constructed

8- Construction of a bridge abutment wall

Nova Wall Formwork offers the most convenient way to build walls. Easily installed, the wall formwork is best suited for all kinds of vertical applications like walls, shear walls, retaining walls, lift walls rafts, swimming pools, water tanks, box culverts, drains, STP tanks, and other vertical applications.
